Competitors, families, and spectators should review the following event-day information before arriving.

GM Woody Sims presents Summer Slam 2026 - Grand Champion

Tournament Start Time

Division schedules may vary by LEAGUE event, but several divisions commonly begin promptly at 8:30am, including traditional kata, weapon kata, open or musical kata, continuous sparring, and first-timer divisions.

Competitors entered in early divisions should arrive at least one hour before their division begins to allow time for parking, check-in, registration lines, spectator bands, warm-ups, and any event-day delays.

Registration and Check-In

Pre-registered competitors may arrive any time before their division, but should plan to be on site at least one hour early.

At-the-door registration will be available on event day until 10:30am. After 10:30am, door registration closes. Same-day registration may be subject to higher at-the-door fees.

When arriving, competitors should begin by picking up their competitor bands. Pre-registered competitors should go to the pre-registration line and give the LEAGUE staff member their last name. Staff will retrieve competitor bands and any spectator bands purchased in advance.

Anyone who needs to purchase spectator bands at the event, add additional spectator bands, or complete same-day registration should use the at-the-door registration line.

Competitors registering at the door must complete a registration form before getting in line. Forms must include competitor information, selected divisions, and a signed waiver. Once the paperwork is complete, competitors may proceed through registration.

Please allow extra time for lines and delays, especially if competing in one of the first divisions of the day.

Division Times and Ring Assignments

There is no exact time guarantee for any specific division. However, ring assignments will help competitors estimate when their division is expected to run.

Ring assignments may be available to download from the event page before the tournament and are usually available at front registration on event day. Each division is assigned to a ring and will run in the order listed on the ring assignment sheet.

Competitors should monitor their assigned ring throughout the day and stay prepared as their division approaches.

Competing in Multiple Divisions

Competitors entered in multiple divisions should be prepared to move between rings if needed. A division will not be held while a competitor finishes a form or event in another ring.

If multiple divisions are called at the same time in different rings, it is the competitor’s responsibility to have the proper uniform, weapons, and equipment ready.

Once called by the ring coordinator, competitors have two minutes to report to the ring. Competitors who do not report in time may be disqualified from that division. No refunds are given for missed divisions or disqualifications.

Grand Champion Divisions

Grand Champion divisions are held at LEAGUE tournaments. Grand Champion runoffs are conducted as each age level and bracket finishes.

Competitors who win an Overall Grand Champion Award at a conference event earn an additional 20 divisional points.

Event Reminder

Please check the event page before tournament day for updates, registration details, and ring assignments.
