ABOUT

Family oriented Martial arts school

Overview

Hawaii Kenpo Karate, LLC is a local, family-oriented martial arts school located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. The school emphasizes self-discipline, respect, and the integration of mind and body through structured martial arts training. This is not a fight club. Students are challenged to train hard while maintaining a positive, supportive, and respectful environment.

All students begin at the White Belt level and progress through the ranks toward Black Belt based on skill, focus, effort, and participation.

Systems & Training Approach

The primary system taught is Kajukenbo (Iverson Method), with a strong foundation in Kenpo Karate. Training reflects the practical, street-oriented origins of the art while preserving traditional martial arts structure and discipline.

Instruction draws from multiple combat and conditioning disciplines, including:

  • Karate

  • Kenpo

  • Mixed Martial Arts

  • Judo

  • Jujitsu

  • Tae Kwon Do

  • Boxing

  • Weight training and cardio conditioning

  • Physical stretching and mobility work

This well-rounded approach allows students to develop practical self-defense skills, physical conditioning, and technical understanding across multiple ranges of combat.

Curriculum & Development

Students train in:

  • Blocks, punches, and kicks

  • Combinations and applied self-defense

  • Grab arts and ground work

  • Traditional katas

  • Body conditioning and fist (knuckle) training

As students advance, training becomes increasingly demanding. Higher ranks require sharper technique, deeper understanding, and refined execution. Advancement reflects both technical ability and personal development.

Advancement & Values

Promotion is earned through consistent effort, attention to detail, ability, and participation. Alongside physical training, students are taught:

  • Respect and discipline

  • Focus and control

  • Responsibility in the use of martial skills

  • Understanding when not to apply what they have learned

Character development is considered as important as fighting ability.

Youth Program

Hawaii Kenpo Karate, LLC welcomes children seeking self-defense training and personal growth. Instructors work to bring out each child’s best abilities while reinforcing discipline, confidence, and respect.

Students who achieve Black Belt rank are expected to be well-rounded individuals, both physically and mentally.
