Aloha Kajukenbo Ohana.

Professor Bobby Rimando in Las Vegas, Nevada requested that I post the attached letter from our Founder, Sijo Adriano D Emperado.  Just some history to mull and ponder over.

              Repectfully submitted by
              Sifu Carol Sabangan
Rimando Kajukenbo of North Las Vegas

Blast from the past, look, like PAU already
As in yourself, the continued strenght in Kajukenbo, not PAU, but stepping stones from our past to the future. Learning as we go, making mistakes, correcting, using what makes things work.,
Thanks to Prof. Rimando, for giving memories of the IKA, not Pau..... but remembered.
With all due respect

GM Reyes
I remember those days and meetings as Im sure you do. I agree mistakes made and things to grow from
I did learn alot from the folks who sat around that room in oakland, i did not like how certain people were treated.
I will leave it at that but I do belive you know what I speak off.
Hope all is well with you Sir!!

I remember this VERY well.  I had mostly forgotten about the letter.  Amazing how things changed over the years, isn't it?  Does anybody remember how long the IKA lasted?  I can't remember what year it pretty much dissolved (some say not completely, but it basically dissolved).  I remember it being formed, then it falling apart and then forgetting it... interesting.

As far as I had heard it fell apart in the 80's.
No matter what Sijo said at the start of the IKA he did not feel the same after it fell apart.
Sijo said and did many things in his life that he changed his mind about later just like we all do.
May I ask what is the message here about the IKA?
It is not and has not been active for over 20 years, as several people have mentioned it has been forgotten.

Just past history, something to share, I would guess? Everyone is in their own thing,
Just as the KAA,still going strong, headed by many during it's past, present , and future,,,maybe we can borrow something from their organization that would make the KSDI stronger,,,,Yes, IKA is defunct, and the limelight is gone,  but as the many organizations come and go,,,,we all strive to make KAJU stronger, by gathering intel, good or bad, no conspiracy,,, just trying to continue good work, whatever it would be, for the betterment of the many.
IMHO

I beleive I had the last IKA tournament in Inglewood around 1983 or 1985 and not long after that it fell apart little by little through inside fightinng which destroyed it's self at the top level. I hope we  don't do that to SIJO'S KSDI. See all in Las Vegas!!
