I think a trip to Thailand would be a great cultural and training experience. The country is beautiful and the training intense. But to almost promise a ranking of some kind after only 7 days training (what else happens at a certification banquet?) is a bit much.

Haven't we seen a bit too much of that kind of thing in Kajukenbo over the years? It is the one unifying complaint that I have heard from everybody.

I say go and train, but have some self respect and refuse any promotion of this kind. They always feel much better when they are earned.

Sorry for bitching but I don't want anyone to mistake my intent.

e-mail i received on the camp a few days back.....=)

Hello Mark,

I am going to be administrating the Cert. camp.  Danny sent me a copy of the email that you sent him regarding the camp, your camps and your pricing. I have discarded the email for your professional privacy.
We agree with you that these Certifications Camps may be a hard sell.  The camp is designed primarily for individuals whom are looking for certification. we will be eventually offering 'training camps' like yours (not including Certification) that will take the pricing down.
What we want to do for you, is use you as an Black Belt "MT Agent". You and your students can come as participants, but will not be testing for Certification.  Every student at the camp will be receiving a Certificate of Participation.  Those whom are testing will receive an additional cert.
You can package it as you would like.  We will provide you with the details and then you can speak to your audience as you desire.
We would offer you the entire camp at $????? USD (not including Certification, air, ground transportation).  Everything within the package would be offered as we have stated currently. As you will agree this is not your 'typical' let's go get sweaty/bang on the bags training camp.  We will be providing them Thai culture, a banquet, massage and more (all included).
And as the Black Belt "MT Agent" you (Mark) only have to pay $???? for the camp (not including Certification, air, ground transportation).  You would need to have at least 3 participants in order for this to be cost effective to us.
Please know that we will not be offering this to others, as we are marketing primarily to those whom want certification.  Thank you for keeping us close to your heart and prayers.  We have all been able to be a blessing to one another in many ways.  Let's see if this will be just another one, huh??
I hope to hear from you soon and see you in April.
