WHKD Mission Statement
« on: December 29, 2005, 11:02:49 AM »
I am posting this at the request of Sifu (Grandmaster) Al Dacascos:

"WHKD MISSION STATEMENT and basis of

WHKD expressions and concepts sprung out of its roots in Kajukenbo
Kenpo-karate, our mother art by way of the Tum-pai and the Ch’uan Fa
sections.  While Kajukenbo has been our lighthouse, WHKD has been the
light.  An example of the ever-evolving science of human
self-protection.  Our mission is to provide positive role models for
today’s progressive visions of the ultimate method of self-defense,
using modern technologies and methods while keeping it simple,
practical, and effective. From an individual, to the family, to the
community, to nation, in every possible area where WHKD can be the
beacon of light to others.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is to empower individuals through service to others.
Empowerment societies are built with empowered people, one individual
at a time.  We train people to take constructive and cooperative
actions to solve individual and social problems.  We provide people
with the tools, support and opportunities to face their unique
challenges and fulfill their unique interests and goals in this fine
form of self discipline, through spiritual, emotional, mental and
physical means.

WHKD MISSION STATEMENT

through the power of time tested, time proven history of Martial arts.
Our Physical power Binding with the Humanitarian Arts,

Sifu Cirillo,

I believe the post is specific to the Portland group, as the the Chairman (well now former Chairman) and all the rest are from the Portland group of black belts.

Hunter, this is why you don't find Sifu Cirillo's name on this list--as he does not live in Portland.

hunter,

I respond to your comments because I am one of the "moderators" for the Wun Hop Kue Do group.  That is the job I took on when I accepted the position.

As for my role in Wun Hop Kuen Do structure, as in all areas I avoid additional work when I can.  My life is too busy as it is.  Jason is also right though, I don't live in Portland anymore, so it would be tough for me to help out up there much.

I have never been given any duties as scribe, historian or commentator.  I wouldn't accept them if they were offered.  I don't have the time for such things. Also, I prefer to train rather than talk about training. 8)

I hear you about finding the time, etc...

I am glad you have up one of the few websites dedicated to explaining
Kajukenbo and WunHopKuenDo.

Mahalos for doing so.   ;D

What are those  immortal words of "Mission: Impossible"
regarding Jim Phelps and his choice of accepting the job?
